***Chris grew up playing tennis in B.C. and was ranked as high as No. 2 provincially in the U12 and U16 divisions. He played in two junior national championships in the 80s. Top-seed Inaki Espindola won the boys’ Under-18 title at the the Niagara Academy of Tennis U16/U18 tournament on May 1.
Espindola defeated second-seed Gabriel Ruiz 6-1, 6-2 in Sunday’s championship match. Espindola defeated Kyle Korus 6-2, 7-5 in his first match and dumped third-seed Nathan Rahier 6-4, 6-1 in the semifinals.
