Last January I really felt my results did not warrant for me to bypass University. Although I reached a high 21 ITF ranking it became obvious that I still had a lot to learn. My parents as always were instrumental in making my decision which was supported by them and the coaches at the National Centre in Montreal.

Pierre “The Bear” Lamarche: “Christophe Lambert hired as the new Head Coach for the Toronto National Junior Training Program”

Christophe Lambert has been hired as the new Head Coach for the Toronto National Junior Training Program. Lambert is a former junior and professional coach from France, having served as the head coach at one of Marseille’s top competition level tennis clubs and for the French Tennis Federation’s U14 program, and has been working in the Canadian tennis system since 2009. The training program, which is run out of the Rexall Centre, has been in place since 2009 and serves as a passageway for promising juniors into the full-time National Training Centre (NTC) in Montreal. Lambert will transition from his current position as director of high performance club and talent development with Tennis Canada.

Yves Boulais, a long time fixture of Canadian tennis will reintegrate into the Canadian Tennis Family and become the Director of High Performance Clubs and Under 10 Talent Development. Boulais who is married to former WTA top 30 Patricia Hy-Boulais is well-known and respected by many Canadian players and coaches who have had working and personal relationships with him over the last twenty five years.

One week after being front and center in Canada’s great Davis Cup semi-final run in Belgrade, Michael Downey, CEO and president of Tennis Canada, has informed the TC Board of Directors that he was leaving to become the Chief Executive of the Lawn Tennis Association as of January 6th, 2014. Michael Downey has been a major force in helping tennis rebuild its image as a major sport in our country.
