Boris Becker turned 40 yesterday amid the news that the divorced father of three has separated from Dutch girlfriend Sharlely Kerssenberg.
The three-time Wimbledon winner-turned-businessman and media personality who now lives in Switzerland, was last seen with the model at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 1.
The tennis icon told the German magazine Revue: “We realized that we had different lifestyles. In that situation you have to be honest with each other.”
Becker, who has two sons who now live in Florida with ex-wife Barbara Feltus, and has a seven-year-old daughter with Russian model Angela Ermakova, said he would not rule out marrying again.
He said that while he has no time and no prospects for 2007, he could perhaps see it happening from 2008 onwards
