Newfoundland’s Melissa Pine named WTA Year-End Championship Director

Melissa Pine was a four-year letter winner for the Washington State University Cougars in her NCAA tennis career. She later served as assistant coach for the Division I school. Melissa Pine joined the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the governing body for women’s professional tennis, in 2008 as manager of strategic operations after which she moved to London, England where she oversaw all aspects of the season-ending WTA Championship during its three-year stint in Istanbul, Turkey. Pine was recently named the tournament’s director as it moves to Singapore for the next four years.
